
H.E. the Chairman of the General Authority for Regulating the Real Estate Sector – Aqarat showcases Qatar’s thriving real estate experience at the Future Real Estate Forum in Riyadh.
His Excellency Engineer Khalid bin Ahmed Al-Obaidli, Chairman of the Public Authority for Regulating the Real Estate Sector – Aqarat, participated in the 4th edition of the Future of Real Estate Forum 2025, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from January 27 to 29, 2025.
In a panel discussion titled “A Thriving and Innovative Real Estate Ecosystem,” His Excellency Al-Obaidli spoke about Qatar’s successful real estate experience, which relies on innovation to shape the future of real estate and urban projects, especially in smart cities built on quality, sustainability, and modernity. This is achieved through a strategy and governance that ensures transparency and access to accurate information for investors, highlighting promising real estate investment opportunities in Qatar.
Engineer Al-Obaidli mentioned that the success of Saudi Arabia in the real estate sector reflects the growth of the entire GCC region in developing a prosperous real estate market that benefits all member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
He emphasized that there is a fruitful partnership between the Public Authority for Regulating the Real Estate Sector in Qatar and several similar agencies in Gulf countries, particularly the Saudi Real Estate Authority, to enhance integration in developing the real estate sector.
Al-Obaidli also pointed out that technology is one of the most important tools for developing the real estate sector. Technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality can be used to enhance the customer experience. The authority has integrated AI technologies into its applications, including its website, mobile app, interactive map, Chatbot, and Avatar.
He also mentioned that a plan is underway to establish a real estate institute in close collaboration with national universities. This institute will enable real estate professionals to engage with the sector and obtain the necessary licenses to practice their work.
It is worth mentioning that Riyadh is hosting the 4th edition of the Future of Real Estate Forum, under the auspices of the Public Authority for Real Estate and in partnership with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, from January 27 to 29, 2025. The forum is being held under the theme “A Future for Humanity: From Dreams to Reality” and includes participation from more than 120 countries and 500 speakers representing both the public and private sectors, alongside a selection of economists, investors, decision-makers, and experts in the real estate sector at both local and international levels
